💡 Important: Shin-Osaka, Not Osaka

How to Save Money
Regional JR Passes
If traveling extensively in western Japan, regional passes offer significant savings:
- JR West Sanyo Area Pass: ¥23,000 for 4 days – covers Osaka-Hiroshima, Miyajima ferry, and more
- JR Kansai-Hiroshima Pass: ¥17,000 for 5 days – more limited but good value
For a simple round trip (~¥21,000), the Sanyo Area Pass pays for itself with any additional travel.

The right side of the train (seats D/E) offers glimpses of the Seto Inland Sea and coastline after passing Okayama. On clear days, you might spot islands and bridges. The scenery is most dramatic in the last 30 minutes before Hiroshima.
